Consumption of natural resources must be reflected in costs. If work is a cost factor but the consumption of natural resources is not, then jobs, resources and the environment - the earth and its inhabitants - are destroyed. This puts at risk not only the future of our companies but the future of humanity. When balance sheets include the cost of the constant renewal of nature, then markets will be a force for ecological responsibility.

The focus of identification must shift from the nation-state to all mankind. All cultures must acknowledge, accept and implement changes. Tolerance is the yardstick of our capacity to absorb change. Tolerance is the ability to accept new ideas and to welcome differences instead of resisting them. For this reason it is the best way to measure the survival capacity of a system.

Technical risks must only be taken if they are insured. Uninsurable risks must not be embarked upon because the world's capital cannot cover them. Uninsured risks must not be embarked upon because the world's capital will not cover them. Biological evolution has shown us how technology can develop in new ways that we can now only guess at.

Summary: Companies ensure their survival by absorbing and adapting to change. Taking on responsibility becomes a measure for the creative power while tolerance measures the ability to absorb change.
